Property platform BrickVest grabs first half of £4m round

London-based real estate investment platform BrickVest has raised half of its latest £4m funding round.

The company took on £2m from angel investors including Jean-Romain Lhomme, former co-head of Europe at Colony Capital.

BrickVest operates a pan-European crowd investing platform that allows users to invest in institution-grade real estate opportunities for as little as €1,000.

Users can also manage their investments through the platform.

The company recently received an Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFM) License giving it the needed regulation to make cross-boarder investments around the continent.

Targeting high net-worth individuals, BrickVest claims to have attracted almost 2,500 investors.

The capital will be used to accelerate tech development including the introduction of an automated liquidity platform and risk rating analytics as well as more products for larger-ticket investors.

BrickVest previously raised two separate £1m round in April 2015 and 2016 and expects to close the next £2m of the current round by June.
