Netskope acquires fellow cloud infrastructure company Sift Security

Netskope has acquired fellow cloud infrastructure security company Sift Security for an undisclosed amount.

This acquisition will integrate Sift Security’s Cloud Hunter an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) threat detection, correlation, visualization, and response engine with Netskope. Alongside the acquisition, Sift Security CEO Neil King will join Netskope to lead its product strategy and management for its IaaS services.

The integration of the solution will provide customers with a differentiated security protection from a single cloud and interface. Users will receive benefits of an advanced DLP, threat protection, configuration and posture management.

Netskope offers a security cloud solution which offers consumers with a 360-degree data protection for financial service, legal departments, government institutions, healthcare providers, retail companies, and manufacturers, among others.

Offerings include data loss prevention, malware and ransomware protection, cloud encryption, cloud storage security and insider threat protection.

Netskope founder and CEO Sanjay Beri said, “The market is demanding a new approach to today’s challenging security problems, and the integration of Cloud Hunter into our ‘one cloud’ architecture will accelerate our journey toward making Netskope the next great independent, iconic security company.”

California-based Sift Security is a next-generation security system for cloud infrastructure, providing businesses with enhanced visibility and protection. Clients also gain access to advanced analytics of operations, cloud forensics, APIs and automation software and a continuous compliance support.

Sift Security CEO Neil King said, “Four years ago we set out to build a security solution that could detect, correlate, visualize and automatically respond to threats in infrastructure-as-a-service environments like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

“We’re excited to combine those capabilities into the market-leading Netskope Security Cloud. Sanjay and team have an unmatched vision for the future of the security market, and we could not be happier to partner with Netskope as part of Sift’s next chapter.”

Last month, Netskope raised $100m in its Series E round which was co-led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Accel.
