Mubasher taps Marco Polo Securities’ regulatory platform

Dubai International Financial Centre-registered Mubasher Financial Services is expanding its access to US investors via the Marco Polo regulatory platform.

Mubasher is a provider of regional and international brokerage services to institutional investors in the MENA region. It offers access to both equity and fixed income trading in the regional markets.

New York-based Marco Polo Securities said its solution currently enables over 50 securities firms throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America to market their local products to international investors. These products include access to local exchange-listed securities as well as private placement and M&A opportunities.

Shafi Wahid, head of business development at Mubasher Financial Services said, “We are excited about our partnership with Marco Polo, which will allow institutional customers in the US to access Middle Eastern, African and South Asian markets via Mubasher’s award-winning execution platform. Joining the Marco Polo platform is an investment that enables us to deepen our presence in the US capital markets while ensuring regulatory compliance.”

Marco Polo claims to be the pioneering platform for cross-border electronic trading infrastructure, enabling global institutional flows and providing a unique distribution and regulatory network for capital raising in the global markets. The company is a member of FINRA, NFA and SIPC.

Its US Chaperoning service includes a ‘Regulatory Umbrella’, which enables its customers to market financial products and services to US investors in a compliant regulatory environment through a chaperoning partnership.  The services also helps customers obtain administrative and compliance support for US visits, conferences, roadshows, research distribution, and corporate access initiatives.

Earlier this year, Trigon, an independent financial group based in Poland, expanded its access to US investors via the Marco Polo regulatory platform. Following the announcement, Ugur Sarman, head of institutional sales at Marco Polo Securitie, said: “Trigon is one of Poland’s most established financial institutions offering significant opportunities for the US buy-side community. Through our partnership, we are excited to expose Trigon’s investment banking, brokerage and asset management capabilities.”
