Lloyds Bank looks to hire head of FinTech discovery

Lloyds Bank is looking for fresh talent to improve its digital strategy with a job posting for a new head of fintech discovery at the banking group.

The role comes as a part of the bank’s plan to invest £1bn into the digital transformation of its services over the next three years.

The job listing says the new hire will be responsible for, “strategically analysing new business models, emerging technical trends, and will be supporting on product-focused, process-driven and service-led innovations.”

The company claims that 52% of its retail, consumer finance and insurance products are now delivered digitally.

It comes as more incumbent financial institutions aim to transition their services and business models in order to keep pace with changing consumer habits and fintech startups.

The job listing also says the company’s head of the fintech would be expected to spot and pursue potential partnerships and investments.
