Illumio launches it PCE Supercluster solution

Illumio, a cybersecurity solution which offers micro-segmentation for data, has launched its PCE Supercluster solution.

The new service is designed for ‘enterprise-scale real-time application dependency mapping and micro-segmentation deployments.’ Micro-segmentation is a technique of establishing secured areas within data centres in order to isolate security.

PCE Supercluster has already been implemented into large organisations around the world and is the first solution to offer micro-segmentation and visibility for more than 100,000 workloads, the company claims.

The solution is different from existing solutions by enabling IT teams to micro-segment without rearchitecting their network or forcing organisations to connect various solutions which do not scale.

Its new service boasts global real-time application dependency mapping on all data centre and cloud workloads, micro-segmentation security policies, federated security control plane and automated disaster recovery.

Illumio vice president of product management Matthew Glenn said, “Security solutions that cannot scale with an organization’s infrastructure put the burden on customers to make sacrifices that can result in security gaps. When we read different breach reports, these misconfigurations can be the point of entry for bad actors.

“The beauty of PCE Supercluster is that for the first time IT organizations have full global visibility, centralized management, and consistent enforcement of micro-segmentation policies across multi-region infrastructure at very large scale – finally, true global application workload protection through micro-segmentation.”

Illumio builds real-time application dependency mapping and micro-segmentation to prevent lateral movement of malicious players in data centres and cloud environments. Its services are currently used by clients including Morgan Stanley, BNP Paribas, and Salesforce, among others.
