HelpSystems secures strategic investment from TA Associates and Charlesbank

HelpSystems has secured an undisclosed strategic investment from TA Associates and Charlesbank Capital Partners.

Founded in 1982, HelpSystems offers a portfolio of tools to help businesses with their IT challenges. Solutions available from the company include cybersecurity, GDPR, PCI and HIPAA compliance, document management, cloud management, data intelligence, workflow automation, and IT optimization.

Cybersecurity tools from HelpSystems help businesses with virus protection, encryption, secure managed file transfer, intrusion prevention and detection, identity and access management, and security monitoring.

As part of the deal, TA Associates managing director Harry Taylor and senior vice president Michael Libert will join the HelpSystems board of directors as well as Charlesbank Capital Partners managing director Hiren Mankodi.

HelpSystems CEO Kate Bolseth said, “Today marks an important milestone for HelpSystems as we continue to make significant strides in providing the highest quality products and service offerings to our dedicated global customer base.

“Having the ability to bring aboard two highly talented, long-term and well-respected growth investors such as TA and Charlesbank, both of whom are fully aligned with and supportive of our business model, is truly a unique opportunity that we believe will accelerate our growth trajectory and help us expand into additional emerging and opportunistic markets. We are honored to welcome both of these firms to the HelpSystems family and look forward to benefiting from their complementary array of resources and skills.”

Last year, H.I.G. ended its three-year ownership of HelpSystems, selling its stake to HGGC for an undisclosed amount.
