Hawk AI adds AML veteran as US general manager

RegTech Hawk AI has appointed AML and fraud industry stalwart Steve Liu as its general manager for the US.

According to Hawk AI, Liu will be responsible for driving growth in the US and the Americas more broadly in his new role. The company has previously highlighted that the US is a key growth region for the firm.

Liu joins Hawk AI from global fraud provider Feedzai, where he was a part of its senior leadership team. During his time there, he held key roles including head of APAC and senior vice president of US Customer Success. Prior to this, he also worked at Aysadi, CoreOne and Netik.

Hawk AI CEO and co-founder Tobias Schweiger said, “Fighting financial crime remains a top priority for financial institutions as AML regulation and Sanction regimes tighten globally. While fraud patterns evolve constantly, inadequate and inflexible existing solutions are paralysing banks and FinTechs. Building the right team is vital to address this priority, which is why I’m thrilled to welcome Steve on board. His proven effectiveness and market understanding will be key to accelerating our current growth in the US”.

Liu added, “Hawk AI’s visionary product is built on technology leadership that facilitates performance excellence and rapid delivery. We have the potential to revolutionise how financial institutions fight financial crime. I’m excited to join Hawk AI’s team of seasoned industry experts and help deliver leading AML technology to more financial institutions.”
