European Association for Biometrics joins the Secure Identity Alliance

Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) has revealed the European Association for Biometrics (EAB) has joined its Advisory Observer program.

With rising challenges facing identity across Europe, being either migration, national security, or privacy rights, both SIA and EAB are working together to develop and promote identity technology. They are also working together to develop best practices to serve and empower citizens across Europe.

The new partnership will bolster the ability of SIA and EAB to drive digital transformation of identity across various sectors including financial services, public sector and healthcare, among others.

The SIA Advisory Observer program brings together governmental agencies, academics and international organisations from the entire global identity value chain from across the world. The group aims to review, advise and support SIA’s global advocate, policy and technical guidance roles.

Secure Identity Alliance board chairman Frédéric Trojani said, “As one of Europe’s leading voices in the Digital ID and biometrics arena, EAB’s presence within the SIA is of tremendous value.

“Its unbiased and in-depth expertise on biometrics and identity will offer crucial insights into our Work Group programs and support our mission of supporting the provision of legal, trusted identity for all, and to drive the development of inclusive digital services necessary for sustainable, worldwide economic growth and prosperity. I am delighted to welcome EAB and look forward to working together.”
