Email security company Egress adds top five bank to its client-base

People-centric email security company Egress has deployed its services to Bank X, a top five global bank.

Egress Email and File protection will be used by Bank X to secure confidential information sent between finance providers, regulators and retail customers.

Bank X has more than 120,000 employees and presence in over 34 countries, which means it faces various challenges protecting its data. One major problem is meeting the differing compliance requirements in each country it operates within.

The bank, which had put securing its email communications as a priority, explored the market for an email encryption service which was easy to use and implement into its operations. Additionally, the bank wanted a service which it could integrate with its existing technology and archiving systems, manage the sending of large files and could fully audit processes.

Egress Email and File Protection will enable the bank to implement email encryption and protection for unknown/untrusted partners and pre-established relationships. It also offers complete audits of emails including details and contents of a message, end-user access events and permitted permissions.

Furthermore, restrictions have been implemented to stop access or content downloads from certain divisions.

Protecting a business from cybersecurity can be a tough task and Egress CEO Tony Pepper believes when a company thinks they have achieved all there is to achieve, they fall foul to the emerging risks. One of the hardest threats to prepare for, is the ‘insider threat’ and educating employees on safe conduct online.
