EBO.ai launches Oliver, a GDPR-focused virtual assistant

EBO.ai, which develops AI solutions for customer interactions, has launched its new GDPR-focused virtual assistant ‘Oliver’.

The goal of this solution is to boost the public’s understanding the ins and outs of GDPR by making knowledge more accessible.

Oliver can answer complex questions 24/7 and empowers users to easily get information about GDPR. It also empowers corporations and businesses to deal with GDPR questions their clients are asking, fostering interactions between the two groups.

Even a year after the implementation of GDPR, there is still unclarity around the regulation. EBO.ai started a SpeakGDPR campaign to improve knowledge by sharing complex legal concepts through simple and straightforward conversations with Oliver.

EBO.ai managing director Rhys Powell said, “At EBO.ai we believe that Artificial Intelligence is deeply changing the fabric of business as we know it, and our products are built around a commitment to helping businesses get closer to their customers. We are offering leading-edge solutions that help our customers capture new value from their customer-service channels and digital touchpoints and improve the end-user experience too.

“Oliver is an excellent example of how AI can be harnessed to make complex ideas and regulations understandable and accessible for everyone, with 24/7 availability. This is just a fraction of what AI can do, but helping people understand their data rights is an important mission which we’re proud to have undertaken.”

GDPR has received a lot of industry focus and received a lot of investment to foster innovation. Of the $10.9bn since 2014 to be deployed into the RegTech space, 15.7 per cent ($1.7bn) has been invested into companies building GDPR solutions. This makes it the third most funded regulation in the RegTech world, which is only made more impressive by the fact it was only revealed in 2016.
