DoControl introduces SaaS security platform following funding injection

New York-headquartered network security firm DoControl has commercially launched its fully automated SaaS security platform on the back of receiving $10m in Series A funding.

According to DoControl, the new platform will provide automated self-service tools, data access monitoring, orchestration and remediation across major SaaS applications, such as Microsoft OneDrive, Salesforce, Jira, Slack, Box, GitHub and Google Drive.

The DoControl platform is integrated with major SaaS applications to offer three main capabilities of comprehensive asset management, security policy enforcement and the use of a Slack/Teams Bot.

The first helps to provide critical business insights across users, third-party domains, external collaborators and assets, while the second capability is provided through no-code workflows to prevent data breaches. The final capability helps to engage end-users on behalf of security/IT teams to enable self-service remediation.

The Series A funding round was led by RTP Global and included StageOne Ventures, Cardumen Capital and the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund – the early-stage investment fund of global cybersecurity leader CrowdStrike.

DoControl noted the funding round will aid the company is executing its go-to-market strategy by doubling headcount across sales, marketing and R&D in order to accelerate global expansion as well as delivering an enterprise-ready product.

Since it was founded last year, DoControl has raised $13.35m in total financing and claims it is trusted with a wide range of different organizations globally sharing with over 10,000 external firms.

DoControl co-founder and CEO Adam Gavish said, “While leading cybersecurity product management at Google Cloud, I saw first-hand how enterprises struggle with preventing unauthorized access to data stored in the cloud.

“This becomes more complex with SaaS applications serving the entire workforce. Identity providers and zero trust solutions manage users and secure remote access, but security/IT teams have no simple way to dynamically monitor and restrict access to data by former employees, private accounts, external vendors, customers or partners. This creates a huge amount of unmanageable data access, posing significant risks to organizations and increasing the likelihood of data breaches.

“DoControl solves one of the most complex operational challenges – monitoring and restricting data access to the wrong personnel without slowing down business enablement. We’re giving enterprises an efficient platform to balance this operational equation through automation and frictionless, modern user experience.”

RTP Global partner Luke Page added, “The DoControl team is redefining an emerging category affecting almost every company worldwide – SaaS security. We were immediately impressed with the product and engineering background of the founding team and quickly realized this customer-focused team is driven to solve real-world challenges with a differentiated technology that works at scale. With automated security workflows, DoControl makes data access control painless for enterprises of all shapes and sizes to improve security and operational efficiency.”
