DevSecOps startup Oxeye emerges from stealth with $5.3m seed raise

Israeli firm Oxeye has arisen from a period of stealth by securing $5.3m in seed round financing.

The seed funding round also saw participation from i3 Equity Partners and other undisclosed cybersecurity-focused investors.

Oxeye offers cloud-native application security testing solutions designed specifically for modern architectures. The company claims it enables its customers to identify the most critical code vulnerabilities as a vital part of the software development cycle.

The company’s platform – currently in Beta – can be integrated with a wider variety of products including AWS, Google Cloud, GitHub, Docker, Jira, Trello and many others.

According to Oxeye, it intends to use the new funds to complete product development and expand marketing, sales and operations.

Oxeye investor and former ZScaler CISO Michael Sutton said, “Oxeye’s laser focus on the cloud native sector of Application Security Testing (as opposed to traditional AST) gives the company a unique advantage in one of the fastest-growing areas of technology,” “With successful cyberattacks costing millions to application providers, the revenue opportunity for Oxeye is quite significant.”
