DataVisor releases new real-time fraud protection tool

Fraud detection company DataVisor has released a new real-time anti-fraud solution dEdge.

The new tool detects malicious devices in real-time and alerts the organization to uncover known and unknown attacks early. It offers visibility into digital attacks, generating unique device IDs and accurate fraud scores regardless of how fraudsters manipulate devices.

dEdge can detect malicious activity because it gathers hundreds of data fields in real-time on device info, operating system, network, time stamp, languages, user agents and more. The company also captures sophisticated attack techniques like root hook, emulator, repackage, malware and others, and can differentiate between trusted devices and manipulated ones.

The solution will continuously generate unique device identifications which a hacker cannot tamper with or delete. Data security is also implemented to ensure information is not stolen or altered.

Finally, dEdge boasts real-time event tracking which lets a company receive insights into critical events.

DataVisor co-founder and CTO Fang Yu said, “When data is analyzed for fraud after it reaches the service, it could already be manipulated. To validate the legitimacy of the customer or the app, we need to precisely collect the data at the device or browser level.

“Between the data source and application, there are many layers where a fraudster can manipulate the data through proxies, traffic simulators, etc. In some cases, the fraudsters can also repackage the app to conduct fraud. Collecting data at the source can indicate if the environment that the app is running in is legitimate vs. being emulated. This is why DataVisor’s dEdge solution offers the SDK to detect malicious actors at source before they cause damage.”

Last year, the company released its partner programme to support its move into new verticals and geographies. ExtenD lets partners control their sales cycle and deliver service and support through the DataVisor product.
