CyberTech Acronis to invest $50m into Vietnam

Acronis, a cybersecurity unicorn, has reportedly set aside $50m to invest into Vietnam over the next few years.

The company also plans to open a new R&D centre in the country by 2023, according to a report from Tech in Asia. It will focus on hiring staff across all departments, including sales, marketing, data operations and cybersecurity.

Its Vietnam office will work closely with the R&D centres in Bulgaria and Singapore with the aim of creating new cyber protection solutions.

The CyberTech company offers an all-in-one cyber protection platform that unifies data protection and cybersecurity to protect all data, applications and systems. Its product suite includes ransomware protection, patch management, anti-malware, IT disaster recovery, data loss prevention, continuous data protection, and more.

Acronis previously raised $250m in a funding round back in 2021. The funding round, which valued it at $2.5bn, was led by CVC Capital Partners.

Earlier in the year, Vietnam-based Timo scored $20m in its funding round, which was led by Square Peg. The company claims to be the country’s first digital bank.
