Clayton Utz bolsters client on-boarding and risk management

Australian law firm Clayton Utz has selected Intapp to bolster its strategic client on-boarding and risk management.

The law firm said it has selected the cloud-based professional services as part of its risk management and AML/KYC compliance programs. It will be deploying the Intapp business acceptance solution in the cloud for use across its six offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra and Darwin.

“Law firms worldwide are under considerable pressure to demonstrate that they have processes and controls in place to conduct due diligence and thoroughly assess client-related risks in an evolving regulatory environment,” said Marin Sardelic, managing director for Intapp in APAC. “Forward-thinking firms like Clayton Utz are preparing for stricter Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Client rules and regulations by adopting the most advanced technology available on the market today.”

Intapp provides software and services that enable law firms and other professional services firms to ‘thrive in an increasingly competitive marketplace’ by improving operational efficiency, increasing profitability and driving client success according to its website. Its offering includes solutions for risk management, information security, data management, mobility and governance, compliance and regulatory requirements, among others.

Intapp’s risk solutions help organisations address a broad range of information security, business governance and compliance challenges mandated by professional rules, client requirements and other drivers. On the compliance side, the Legal Holds module for Intapp Walls simplifies and automates the complexities of legal hold management for law firms. By replacing manual approaches to legal holds with a software-based approach, firms can significantly streamline the process, using fewer resources, reducing lawyer distractions and decreasing the risks of error or omission.

For firms looking to align their organisations with information management requirements mandated by the HIPAA Omnibus Rule, Intapp also offers assessment and response planning resources coupled with the legal industry’s technology platform for unified information security management and compliance reporting.
