Serverless and cloud native application security platform Aqua Security has received $62m in its Series C round of funding.
The capital injection was led by Insight Partners, with additional commitments coming from Lightspeed Venture Partners, M12, TLV Partners, and Shlomo Kramer. This round of funding puts the company’s total equity raised to over $100m.
Founded in 2015, the company provides online security solutions to five of the top ten banks, and six of the top 15 insurance firms. Companies in the energy, internet, media, travel and retail space also utilise the technology.
Its technology secures cloud-native, container-based and serverless applications from development to production. The solution gives full visibility and security automation across the application lifecycle, using zero-touch technology to identify threats and maintain compliance.
The security company has witnessed strong growth over the last year, including it quadrupling its customer base.
Aqua Security CEO and co-founder Dror Davidoff said, “We are thrilled to have Insight Partners as investors to propel Aqua’s next phase of growth.
“The adoption of cloud native technologies provides an opportunity for security to be redefined, addressing the chronic cybersecurity skills shortage through automation, and creating applications that are secure by design. With this significant investment and our focus on the needs of enterprise customers and product innovation, we can take the next step to realize our vision.”
Last year, the RegTech company released a new compliance feature which helps companies meet key requirements of PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, CIS and NIST guidelines. The added features aim to ease burdens on organisations with their development and handling of governance, risk and compliance.
