Absolute Software set to purchase NetMotion for $340m

Canadian endpoint resilience solutions provider Absolute Software has agreed a deal to acquire security management platform NetMotion for $340m in cash.

Under the terms of the agreed deal, Absolute will acquire 100% of the privately held NetMotion.

Absolute Software was founded in 1993 and provides endpoint visibility and control to help self-healing endpoint security as well as always-connected IT asset management to protect devices, data, applications and users, both on and off the corporate network.

Absolute’s technology is currently embedded in over half a billion devices, the company claims. The firm is headquartered in Vancouver but also has locations in Texas, California, Reading and Ho Chi Minh City.

Established in 2001, Washington-based NetMotion provides remote access with a zero-trust security posture alongside context-aware policy enforcement for all endpoints of any network. The company offers security solutions to over 3,000 organisations worldwide, including seven of the ten largest airlines globally as well as 85% of all US public safety agencies.

While headquartered in Seattle, the company also has offices in Chicago, London, Tokyo, Sydney, Victoria and Frankfurt.
