ServiceNow acquires conversational AI platform Passage AI to boost language support

Cloud-based platform ServiceNow has acquired conversational AI platform Passage AI, for an undisclosed amount.

The deal, which is expected to be completed by the end of Q1 2020, will enable ServiceNow to enhance its deep learning AI capabilities.

Through this acquisition, ServiceNow hopes to support all major languages on its platform and products.

Passage AI has built a conversational AI solution which is built on deep learning models that can be trained to understand text in all major languages.

ServiceNow is incorporating this technology stack with its digitalization offering and its digital workflow tools. This will allow its chatbot to support non-English languages and enable businesses to understand meaning behind work requests.

Acting as a strategic partner for enterprises across all industries, ServiceNow support digital transformation though a selection of AI and machine learning tools. Its offerings include IT service management, operations, business and asset management, security operations, and governance, risk and compliance.

ServiceNow senior director of AI Engineering Debu Chatterjee said, “Work flows more smoothly when people can get things done in their native language.

“Building deep learning, conversational AI capabilities into the Now Platform will enable a work request initiated in German or a customer inquiry initiated in Japanese to be solved by Virtual Agent. Passage AI’s technology will enable us to accelerate our vision of empowering great employee and customer experiences by delivering great workflow experiences. ServiceNow believes in making workflow more smoothly across the enterprise, in all major languages.”
