Over $2.3bn has been raised by the top 10 RegTech deals globally in 2019, which is equal to 16% of the total capital raised in the sector during the period.

North American companies dominate the list with nine of the ten deals being completed in the country. Of the nine deals, seven were raised by US companies, with the other two being raised by Canadian companies.

Databricks raised the largest round of the period with a $400m Series F in Q4 2019. The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz’s Late Stage Venture Fund and upon close of the round, Databricks reached a $6.2bn valuation.

The only deal to make the top 10 list outside of North America was raised by German firm Signavio. The business process automation, risk and compliance solutions provider raised $177m in a Series C round in Q3 2019. The round was led by Apax Digital and values the company at $400m.
