Finvasia takes funding for investment portal

Indian investment platform Finvasia has raised an undisclosed round of funding in its pre-launch phase. The investment comes from Indian VC Intrinsic and values the company at Rs150 crore ($22m).

The company says it aims to remove the middleman from average investors’ portfolios by offering commission-free trading and introducing artificial intelligence to trading.

Finvasia believes reducing hidden fees and offering greater assistance to investors will help to lower the barrier for more ordinary investors.

It also offers other financial services such as asset management, investment banking, capital market advisory, currency hedging to brokerage services in commodities, equities and derivatives.

The company says that it advises foreign investors, non-resident Indians, high net worth individuals and retail investors across 14 countries.
