Arcadia Data reels in $15m in Pelion-led round

Arcadia Data, a provider of visual analytics software for big data, has raised $15m in Series B funding.

The round was led by Pelion Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Intel Capital, Mayfield Fund and Blumberg Capital. The investment, which brings the company’s fundraising total to $27m, will be used to support its global organisational expansion, go-to-market strategies, and will continue to fuel its focus on product innovation.

Arcadia Data provides native visual analytics software that runs within modern data platforms for the scale, flexibility, performance and security users need to glean business insights and design data-centric applications in the era of big data and IoT.

Its flagship product, Arcadia Enterprise, was built to run natively within big data platforms, in the cloud and/or on-premises, to streamline the self-service analytics process on data in Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Solr. It enables real-time, high-definition insights in use cases like data lakes, cybersecurity, connected IoT devices, and customer intelligence.

The company claims to have five of the top seven financial services companies among its customers and more than 2,500 companies using Arcadia Instant. Its customers include Royal Bank of Canada, Bell Canada, Citibank, Cisco, HPE, Kaiser Permanente, Komatsu, NHL, Nokia, Nordea Bank, Procter & Gamble, Turner Broadcasting, Pizza Hut, and the USDA.

Arcadia Enterprise delivers visual analytics for modern cybersecurity platforms. The company also helps banks leverage internal and external alternative data sources to improve compliance and regulatory oversight.
